METHANA
Methana is a peninsula with great archaeological importance, situated on the
sea route between the islands of Poros and Aegina in the Saronic Gulf. It is
dominated by a spectacular range of mountains dotted with rural villages
nestling on the lower slopes and foothills. The main centre of activity is
the attractive spa town of Methana with its seaport, coffee shops, tavernas
and small marina. Not far from the town is the famous fishing village of
Vathi where the tavernas offer fresh fish and ouzu. From Methana it is easy to reach
Argos, Vytina, Ancient Olympia, Ancient Corinth and Delphi. Ancient Trizinia,
the birth place of Theseus, is only ten minutes away.
